Applications are now being accepted for a new position as Vice President for Research. The deadline for applications is 23 October 2025.
With a view to strengthening the University’s performance in research, the Vice-Chancellor has decided to establish a new position of Vice President for Research.
The Vice President for Research will work on University-wide research issues and represent the University in research contexts. The Vice President for Research will be a co-opted member of the Vice-Chancellor’s Management Council and will be responsible, among other things, for guiding and coordinating University-wide concerns relating to:
- research ethics
- research infrastructure
- open science
- research funding
- other research-related issues as instructed by the Vice-Chancellor.
Three-year assignment
The role is intended to make up 80 per cent of a full-time position, over a renewable three-year term. The qualifications for the position include being a professor, employed at Uppsala University and a collaboratively oriented person with high integrity.
The new role of Vice President for Research does not affect the current responsibilities of vice-rectors and deans in research and other areas.
