More applicants for spring courses and study programmes in Uppsala and Visby

Applications for the spring semester’s courses and study programmes have now been received. In total 59,985 people applied for a course or study programme at Uppsala University, an increase of 3.6 per cent compared with last year. The highest numbers of applicants were for the programmes in law and medicine, and among courses, the Business Studies A course package.
The total number of unique applicants to Uppsala University was 59,985, an increase of 3.6 per cent compared with the number of applicants to the University for the 2025 spring semester. The number of unique applicants to Campus Gotland was 9,461, an increase of 1.9 per cent compared with the 2025 spring semester.

The only study programme at Campus Gotland that starts in the spring semester 2026 is the Nursing Programme, and it had 384 applicants.

More applicants for higher education courses and study programmes in the spring semester
- At midnight on 15 October, applications closed for the spring semester’s higher education courses and study programmes on Antagning.se. By then, just on 264,000 people had applied for courses and study programmes – an increase of 4.6 per cent compared with the 2025 spring semester.
- The number of women applicants has increased by 5.1 per cent and among men the increase was 3.7 per cent.
- Applicants for study programmes increased by 9.6 per cent, while the increase for courses/course packages was 3.9 per cent.
- At the same time, the number of courses and study programmes that could be applied for has decreased by 1 per cent.
