Uppsala University is introducing new campus cards with a new design and a validity period of five years for staff.
In October 2025, Uppsala University replaced the production system for campus cards (access cards) with a new and more modern system.
The new campus cards have an updated look and also a limited validity period. Each card is valid for five years for staff and must then be replaced. A main purpose of this change is to keep the photo of the staff member up to date.

Current campus cards will remain valid until they are replaced. This means that the change will occur gradually as staff order new cards and after stocks of the current cards are exhausted. The old cards are already out of stock for Ångström, where they are now using the new design for new campus cards that are ordered.
Block a lost card
If you lose or mislay your campus card, you should immediately block it. You can do this yourself via the service portal for campus cards. There you can:
- block your card
- order a new card
- change the card’s PIN
- change the photo.
