Military exercise will be noticeable

The national defence exercise Aurora 26 will be conducted in Sweden between 27 April and 13 May 2026. The exercise will focus on areas including Gotland and southern Sweden. The exercise will also be noticeable in Uppsala due to increased military air traffic.
The exercise involves around 18,000 participants from Sweden and several other countries and aims to strengthen Sweden’s defence capabilities in cooperation with its allies.
The main focus of the activities will be southern Sweden, Gotland and the Baltic Sea. In Uppsala, the exercise will be noticeable primarily due to increased military air traffic. During the exercise, military personnel will be more visible than usual.
In connection with the exercise, there will be
- increased military traffic on the roads
- increased aviation activities
- maritime activities at sea and in ports
- local impact on traffic flow.
