Are you aware that UAF manages several properties in Uppsala? These properties also contain private accommodation. As a member of staff at Uppsala University, you can join the queue for such accommodation free of charge.

UAF’s tenants include staff and students of Uppsala University. There are also other private tenants, but staff of Uppsala University have priority when the apartments are assigned. The amount of time you need to wait can vary from one area to another. The maximum waiting time can be 10 to 12 years.

UAF owns diverse buildings and many of the properties are historic. Several of the buildings are located in the centre of Uppsala, for example on St Olofsgatan, Drottninggatan, Östra Ågatan and more. Vacant apartments are not posted on the internet. When one becomes available, UAF sends an invitation to a viewing by email. At the viewing, those interested in the apartment are asked to add their name to a list. The person who has been in the queue for the longest time is the first to be offered a contract. There is also a queue for parking and garage spaces.

Joining the housing queue with UAF is not only free for those in the queue, but it is simple too. There is a regular housing queue and a separate queue for students. You can register via the website. All you have to do to keep your place in the queue is to log in every two years.
