It’s time once again to nominate candidates for Uppsala University's most prestigious Distinguished Teaching Awards. Nominate candidates by 11 March 2024.

Each year, Uppsala University presents five distinguished teaching awards for outstanding contributions in education at undergraduate and Master’s levels.

Four of the awards are focused on teachers in the following areas:

  • Theology, Humanities and Educational Sciences,
  • Law and Social Sciences,
  • Medicine and Pharmacy,
  • Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Technology.

The fifth award recognises educational achievements in an area chosen for special priority that year and is known as the Free Distinguished Teaching Award. In 2024, the theme of the free award is “Education for an evolving future world of work”.

The number of nominations from different parts of the University tends to vary from year to year. Each year, around 120 to 150 nominations are received from both students and staff. In recent years, there have been slightly more nominations from students.
