Now is the time to nominate a course or programme for the ENLIGHT European University Network Teaching and Learning Award. The deadline for nominations is 26 May 2024.

The award is presented by ENLIGHT, which is a network of ten European universities, including Uppsala University. ENLIGHT aims to offer students education in an international environment.

“The award recognises educational initiatives that incorporate innovative and international approaches to teaching and learning, in line with ENLIGHT’s aim to strengthen students’ ability to operate across borders – both geographically and academically. The purpose of the award is to spread good educational practices within the ENLIGHT network and to show appreciation for educators’ commitment and dedication to their teaching,” says Ola Winberg, academic coordinator for pedagogical support for ENLIGHT at Uppsala University.

Rewarding help for meeting a changing future

The ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning Award is presented annually. The criteria this year have been formulated to reward innovative educational initiatives that help students develop knowledge and skills that will equip them to meet a changing future.

“Anyone making a nomination needs to motivate their choice with reference to the criteria for the award. An internal selection will then be made at Uppsala University based on the nominations,” Winberg explains.

There are four criteria for the ENLIGHT Teaching and Learning Award in 2024:

1. The course must help students develop competences that support innovation and creativity.

2. Replicability at other universities within ENLIGHT.

3. Reflection on learning and teaching is embedded in the learning process.

4. Innovative approaches to student involvement.

Each university can nominate one candidate for the award. The nominations submitted will be assessed by the ENLIGHT academic coordinators and the decision on which candidate Uppsala University will nominate will be taken by the ENLIGHT Steering Committee.

The deadline for nominations is 26 May 2024.
