Admissions to this autumn’s courses and programmes up by 6.2 percent

The second selection round for admissions to autumn semester 2024 is now complete. The total number of admissions to Uppsala University increased by 6.2 percent compared with the previous year. On Campus Gotland, the number of admissions dropped by 7.6 percent.

After the second selection round, the total number of admissions to Uppsala University is 54,301, compared with 51,133 admissions last year, an increase of 6.2 percent. Campus Gotland has 4,813 admissions, which is a decrease of 7.6 percent compared with last year when Campus Gotland had 5,208 admissions after the second selection round.

The number of admissions is not the same as the number of students, as individuals may have been admitted to multiple courses or programmes.

The highest merit rating was required for admission to the Medicine Programme. The requirement for those applying with grades without supplementary qualifications was 22.10. The courses requiring the highest merit rating were Statistics A, 30 credits and Information Systems/Systems Sciences A, 30 credits.

It is still possible to submit a late application for programmes and courses. universityadmissions.se provides a list of places on courses and programmes that are accepting late applications.

Record number of students admitted this autumn

  • A total of 281,612 people have been admitted to at least one study programme in the autumn term of 2024, according to statistics for universities and university colleges across Sweden.
  • Admissions are increasing in several locations in Sweden - a total of 32 out of 40 universities and colleges are taking in more students compared to autumn 2023.
  • This is an increase of six per cent or 16,062 people compared to autumn 2023, and the highest autumn figure ever for the second selection round.
