The Uppsala University Board meets once a semester to have a slightly longer meeting with room for more strategic discussions. At its meeting on 7 November 2024, the focus will be on educational issues.

The issue of teacher-led time is currently being discussed at all Swedish higher education institutions. Sweden is one of the countries in Europe with the lowest number of teacher-led hours per student. Since the introduction of the compensation-per-student system, teacher-led teaching has gradually decreased over time. Despite increases in compensation levels for both science and technology and humanities and social sciences, there has been an erosion of compensation levels.

Another educational issue raised by the University Board is that of widening participation. The Centre for Higher Education and Research as Objects of Study (HERO) will present an analysis and report as a basis for the discussion.

Other items on the University Board’s meeting agenda include issues of scholarly impact, the rules of procedure and Uppsala University's Future Institutes (UUniFI).
