The Joint Web Login service is used to prevent unauthorized access to the Uppsala University web services.
It enables easier access for users to log onto the web services ensuring access to the all the services without having to log on and off between using the individual services.
Who can use the service?
Only those authorized to use the respective services they want access or use will gain access. An automatic Joint Web Login does not guarantee open access to all services in the entire university system.
When logging on to a service using Joint Web Login, you also access the service Joint Web Login. This system verifies your active, employee or student account status against your profile and which services you will be able to use. When logging out of the web service, you are not automatically logged off from all services.
Would you like the Joint Web Login service for your service/product?
The Joint Web Login service is also available for services and products purchased by a department, research group or other organisation within the University. If you are interested in using the Joint Web Login service for a service/product, a checklist to get started is available here.

- Using your mobile phone. Microsoft Authenticator is the recommended application and will work with all systems and services att Uppsala University.
- Using your web browser. An alternative when there is no mobile phone available. This inferior method is less secure and should only be used as a last resort.

- Previously, login was offered using a USB stick (YubiKey). The method is being phased out, during a transition period existing USB sticks can be used for certain specific systems.
Note: Multi-factor authentication (MFA) by mobile phone only works for services and systems for which the verification method is enabled. The process may be a requirement or an option depending on the service. You cannot choose where to use the login method. If you are unsure whether multi-factor authentication is appropriate for your needs, please contact itsupport@uu.se.
