Avoid Adobe Cloud Storage

Adobe provides software and cloud storage space for all licensed users. Staff at Uppsala University who have acquired a license for Adobe software such as Acrobat or Photoshop, or the Creative Cloud suite with multiple programs, also have cloud storage for files via their Adobe account.

Adobe’s cloud storage is not considered secure enough to store personal data or handle sensitive information and is therefore not suitable for sharing information. University IT Services recommends that all staff clear their Adobe storage spaces of sensitive or personal information by permanently deleting these files.

Adobe provides instructions below on how to permanently delete files from their cloud storage: https://helpx.adobe.com/se/creative-cloud/help/delete-files-permanently.html

Please share this information with other employees who also use software from Adobe. If you or a colleague encounter problems you can always contact us via support.uu.se or itsupport@uu.se.

Are your Files Stored in the Cloud by Mistake?

Sometimes files are automatically stored in Adobe’s cloud, for example, if you choose to send a signed PDF using one of these buttons in Adobe Acrobat:

Please avoid sharing material from within an Adobe application. If absolutely necessary, make sure your file is not sent as a “link” by unchecking that option.

If you have accidentally placed files in Adobe’s cloud, you need to remove them yourself by following the instruction from Adobe linked above.

If you encounter any problems, you can always contact IT support

via support.uu.se or itsupport@uu.se.
