Invitation to participate in shaping a research network ON inter- and multidisciplinarity in research and education

Cross-disciplinary endeavours are recurrently identified as an important route to address so-called wicked problems. Notions of the benefits of such approaches infuse research endeavours, educational initiatives, and research policy discourses. Numerous labels with different meanings and connotations exist, such as inter-, multi-, and transdisciplinarity.
The aim of this research network is to gather researchers and PhD students at Uppsala University who are interested in examining the multifaceted phenomenon of inter- and multidisciplinarity in research and teaching. The network is intended to be reflexive and open to explore different, both promissory and critical, positions. We envision that the network could include researchers with a variety of backgrounds from many different parts of Uppsala University.
The research network will provide new opportunities for knowledge exchange and new collaborative initiatives.
The network is organizationally coordinated by CIRCUS, which is a platform for strengthening the development of inter- and multidisciplinary research collaborations within Uppsala University. Yet, the thematic agenda and modes of operation are to be set by the participating researchers. It could include shared reading seminars, work-in-progress seminars, data sessions, workshops exploring new collaborative research initiatives, and talks with invited guests.
Sign-up here before 6 December!
