A lecture for anyone who’s ever wondered why people voluntarily buy an overall in a color that flatters absolutely no one – and how all of this still manages to unite generation after generation of students.

University guide Mikael Norrby takes you on a historical journey – from the earliest academic ceremonies to today’s student culture, shaped by overalls, badges, and surprisingly elaborate seating rituals.

You’ll hear about the history of student nations and unions, why etiquette still matters, and how a sense of community continues to grow through singing, celebration, and traditions that no one quite knows the origins of… yet everyone fiercely defends.

Welcome to B51 on 5 February at 16:15!

Ps. Denna föreläsning på svenska onsdag 4 februari.
