Welcome to Fiqa: a LGBTQIA+ themed fika for Teknat staff and students!
Welcome to a fika meeting supported by the Teknat and Department of IT equal opportunities groups. Come join us and meet colleagues and peers! This Fiqa series has the aim to build community. Each person can choose how much to share (pronouns, identities, etc).

When: Mon June 16th 15.15.
Where: Café Ångström (https://link.mazemap.com/Y91avZhp)
Who: staff and students from Teknat
You don't need to sign up to attend. Tea, coffee and a selection of gluten-free and vegan fika will be provided. If you have specific dietary restrictions, get in touch with us directly one week before the event at the latest to accommodate you.
If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact Bedour Alshaigy.
Fiqa activities
• Event structure: Fiqa is an informal gathering, a coffee chat with no structure.
• Participation: you decide how you participate, e.g., you can focus on exclusively listening, you may introduce yourself (or not), talk in discussions (or not), you can attend all or just parts of the sessions. You know what you are comfortable with, so it’s you who decides.
• Noise levels: at the beginning of Fiqa this may be high due to people movement between rooms. After that and in seminars it is usually relatively quiet. Please email Virginia if you have specific questions.
• Addressing needs: the person in charge of that session if “live” or Virginia (virginia.grande@it.uu.se) at other points, may be able to act to address these or at the very least communicate to a higher authority the lack of access.
• Demographics: currently we have more staff than bachelor’s and master’s students. In terms of age, as an example Virginia is almost 37 and the average age of participants depends on the event. Everyone is welcome!
Looking forward to meeting you!
