Navigating Studium

Notice: This guide shows you how to navigate within Studium on a computer. If you open Studium using the app, the appearance and features will differ from the guide.

The global menu

No matter where you are in Studium, you will see the global menu on the left. Through it, you can navigate to your personal tools (account, inbox, calendar), courses, and system settings.

Below, we have instructions on how to find your courses and how to navigate within a course. If you want to learn more about your personal tools and how to navigate them, refer to the page Your Profile in Studium instead.

Dashboard

Click the Dashboard button in the global menu to see your favorited and ongoing courses. The courses are displayed as cards on the deshboard and contain the course name, course code, and term. The cards also show if there have been new announcements, assignments, or discussions added to the course.

List of all your courses

Do you want to see your ongoing courses, previous registrations, and future registrations? Click the Courses button in the global menu. Then click on All Courses.

Do you want to control what you see on your Dashboard? If so, click the star to the left of the courses relevant to you. When you go back to the Dashboard, you will only see your starred (favorited) courses.

This can be useful, for example, in situations where you are re-registered to a course and want to filter away the older course from the Dashboard.

Home

When you open a course, you will first arrive at the course Home page. Courses in Studium may differ in appearance and functionality. Sometimes, the homepage is a page with images and information — in other cases, it may lead directly to the course modules.

On the right, you will see the course to-do list, your course groups, and the latest feedback on your submitted assignments.

The course menu

To the left, you will see the course menu. Through the course menu, you can navigate to the different pages that the teacher has chosen to display, such as Announcements, Modules, Grades, People, Schedule, etc.

Modules

Modules is arguably the most important page in your course. This is where you will find information, course material, assignments and quizzes. The content can be grouped by theme or in chronological order, depending on how the teacher has structured it. The modules are, in a way, the table of contents for the course.

Each module can be collapsed for easier navigation of the page. Click on the module’s heading to collapse or expand it.
