Studium Folio to be replaced by a new portfolio tool
Instructure has announced that Folio will be retired on 30 June 2026. After this date, any content stored in Folio will no longer be accessible.
Folio in Studium is the portfolio feature accessed in Canvas via Account → Folio, which opens the external Portfolium service. Students have used it to collect assignments, projects and achievements in a personal portfolio. Folio is being replaced with a new, fully integrated tool called Portfolio, which will be the recommended solution for portfolio work going forward.
What do you need to do?
To avoid losing any material, you must export and save the contents of your Folio portfolio no later than 30 June 2026:
- Log in to Studium and go to Account → Folio.
- For each project:
- download files (i.e. presentations, images, videos)
- copy any text descriptions you want to keep
- save important links
We also recommend that you save key information from your Folio profile if you plan to rebuild your portfolio in the new Canvas Portfolio tool or in another service.
