Nomination Open for the ENLIGHT Sustainability Award 2026
Students at Uppsala University can now nominate projects for the ENLIGHT Sustainability Award 2026 – an award that highlights student initiatives demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainable development.
The award is open to projects carried out between January 2025 and May 2026 by Bachelor’s or Master’s students.
Only non-profit and fully implemented initiatives are eligible. This means that research projects, theses, and conceptual proposals are not included. However, projects that have received support for organisational costs through, for example, grants or compensation for working hours are welcome to apply.
Submissions will be evaluated based on four criteria:
- long-term sustainability and environmental impact
- level of innovation
- community engagement
- leadership
A selection committee at Uppsala University will choose one winner who will advance to the joint ENLIGHT selection process. All ten universities within the European University Alliance ENLIGHT have the opportunity to nominate one project each. Out of these, three final winners will be invited to present their projects at the ENLIGHT Teaching & Learning Conference in Bern, Switzerland, on 22–24 October 2026.
