Update your phone – secure your information

If you have used an iPhone or iPad to log in to or use the university’s IT services, you need to update it to the latest software version.

Apple has discovered a serious security vulnerability affecting both iPhones and iPads. If you use these devices to access the university’s services, you need to update them to the latest version.

If you have used an iPhone or iPad to log in to or use the university’s IT services, such as email, you should update these devices to the latest software version.

The reason is that Apple has identified a severe vulnerability that affects the security of iPhones and iPads.

This impacts all Apple devices, not only those used at Uppsala University.

How do I update my iPhone or iPad?

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Then tap Software Update.

If an update is available, it will appear for download and installation. If no update is shown, you do not need to take any action — your device is already up to date.

To stay secure, always ensure your device is updated to the latest version. This applies regardless of whether you use Apple devices or Android devices.
