Uppsala Naturskola and Upplands ornitologiska förening invite you to a morning with bird ringing at Uppsala Naturskola in Hammarskog outside of Uppsala.
Come join Uppsala Naturskola and Upplands Ornitologiska förening when they are ringing birds. We begin the year by getting to know some of our most common wintering birds up close and seeing how bird ringing is done.
We'll be located at Naturskolan in Hammarskog where we'll also keep a fire going for grilling sausages or other food.
Guided tours for kids and grownups will continuously be held in both Swedish and English.
If the temperature is below -10°C or there is heavy downpour the ringing will be cancelled, but we'll still watch the birds and grill food.
How to get there: Take bus number 108 to the stop ‘Hammarskog vägskäl’.
No registration is required. Just drop in between 09:15 and 13:00.
Wear clothing appropriate for the weather and bring a torch or headlight if you want.
The activity is a collaboration between the Student Health Services at Uppsala University and Campus1477, and is carried out by Uppsala Nature School and the Uppland Ornithological Society.
