Entry requirements

Mathematics 20 points (30 ECTS credits).

Computer science 15 points (22.5 ECTS credits)

including Computer programming, second course and Numerical analysis, first course or

the equivalent.

Aims

To give theoretical and practical knowledge about

principles and methods in computer graphics and

to give knowledge about standard in the area.

Content

The rendering pipeline. Description of geometrical objects and

transformations. Visualisation, clipping and projections. Hidden surface removal. Lighting models for polygon based graphics. Texture mapping and bump mapping. Low level graphics libraries for 3D programming (OpenGL). A practical part is included in the course where the students implement some of the effects and methods introduced during the course.

Instruction

Lectures, laboratory work and compulsory assignments.

Assessment

Written examination at the end of the course.

Passed laboratory course and approved compulsory

assignments are also required.
