Entry requirements

BSc with 30 credits in mathematics and 60 credits in Computer Science

including Logic and proof techniques DV1,

Algorithms and Data Structures DV1 and DV2, Scientific Computing DV1,

Mathematical Statistics DV1, or similar courses.

Learning outcomes

In order to pass, the student must be able

  • approach hard computational problems with a theoretical as well as a practical approach,
  • use advanced algorithmic tools,
  • choose an appropriate method for a given problem.

Content

Advanced and modern algorithmic techniques.

Heuristic techniques.

Project work.

Instruction

Lectures, laboratory work, lessons, and mandatory assignments.

Assessment

Project work, which in some cases can be complemented by a written or oral examination, or assignments.
