Mathematical statistics (1TS11), or
corresponding knowledge.
Aims
The course will give a deeper understanding of
statistical theory and methodology, in particular
knowledge of its applications in technology and
social sciences and ability to perform analysis of statistical data.
Content
Non-parametric methods. Analysis of variance, multiple comparisons. Regression analysis. Introduction to multivariate
analysis. Principal component analysis. Measures
of dependence, independence tests. Discussion on Bayesian methods and statistical decision theory. Use of statistical software.
Instruction
Lectures, exercise sessions and computer
assignments.
Assessment
Written test at the end of the course. Mandatory
assignments may be required.
