Entry requirements
At least two years of basic courses in Natural Sciences, equivalent to 50 points/75 ECTS credits in Biology and 20 points/30 ECTS credits in Chemistry. Biology courses should include Cell Biology, Genetics and Gene Technology, Structure and Physiology of Organisms, and Ecology.
Aims
The main purpose with the course is the make
students prepared for practical as well as
theoretical work on environmental protection.
Content
Environmental chemistry and geology (incl. soil conservation). Basic toxicology. Water and air conservation. Waste, radiation, eutrophication, acidification. Strategies for restoration. Global environmental protection: water, erosion, salt soils, deforestation, desert spreading, ozone, the green house effect, etc. How global environmental problems affect the local environment.
