Aims

Give fundamental knowledge on how to use geographical information systems in the modelling

and analysis of environmental related earth processes.

Content

Basic concepts of geographical information

systems: Boolean operations, vector and raster

models. Basic cartography: transformation of

coordinate systems and projections,

distributed statistics. Modelling and analysis of

distributed earth processes and environmental

problems with GIS: environmental related processes

of aquatic transport, watershed management,

environmental impact assessment.
