Learning outcomes

The student should be able to

- be familiar with protocols and specifications for secure communication:

WWW and Web Services security (SSL, SET)

E-mail security (PGP)

Virtual private networks (VPN) and technique (IPSec)

- be able to create keys and sign certificate

- be able to encipher and decipher an arbitrary file

- be familiar with different threats and attacks on application level

- actively participate in discussions about firewalls and database security
