Entry requirements
120 credits and knowledge and achievements corresponding passed 15 credits courses at CD-level in Analytical Chemistry.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student should be able to:
- perform a, to the analytical problem, relevant search in the literature
- select, plan and perform a complete analytical procedure to be able to solve an analytical problem
- present obtained results oral in Swedish and English, written as a scientific paper, and as a poster
- use methods and means to control the quality of analytical methods
- perform laboratory work in a scientific way with relevant documentation as well as judgment of hazards and safety precautions
Content
Methods and practical handling of total analysis procedures such as: sampling, decomposition methods, extraction, fractionation, preconcentration, separation methods, final determination steps , and evaluation of results. Scientific literature in analytical chemistry.
Instruction
Lectures, demonstrations, laboratory work, seminars and study visits. Compulsory moments: course introduction, laboratory work, projects, seminars, and study visits.
Assessment
Examination is arranged during and/or at the end of the course. The laboratory work must also be passed. The laboratory work and exercises are assigned 10 credits. Students who have failed a test will be given new opportunities.
