Learning outcomes

The students shall improve their ability to promote international understanding in the teaching profession. They shall acquire a deeper understanding of the general factors that govern the conditions of learning by increasing their knowledge of the importance of teacher education and educational objectives in the shaping of education and the way schooling is formed.

Content

Education and teaching – the conditions of learning, 7.5 ECTS-credits.

the role of school in society and the general factors that govern the way education and schooling is organised

teaching and the school system in a chosen country and project area

preparation for project work

Field studies, 7.5 ECTS-credits

field studies in a chosen country and project area

Instruction

The teaching is organised as lectures, seminars and field studies. A project work of 7.5 ECTS-credits in the form of field studies in Sweden or abroad is part of the course.

Assessment

Written paper. Grades are awarded according the scale pass with distinction or pass.
