General provisions

The course is part of the Euroculture Master's programme.

The Course plan was agreed on 2007-12-17 by the Dean of the Faculty of Theology and will be in function from this day and onwards

Entry requirements

The course is only available to students within the Euroculture Master's programme.

Learning outcomes

After completion of the course students will be able to:

- write a Master's thesis containing research questions initiated by the student and plan the thesis with empirical material, theoretical frame-work, analysis and conclusions in an advanced and scientific way.

- develop a qualified analysis of a problem of relevance for Euroculture from a multidisciplinary perspective.

- evaluate research material as well as other kinds of materials connected to the problems discussed in the thesis.

- elaborate innovative solutions to the problems discussed in the thesis.

-evaluate and criticise other Master's theses from an advanced interdisciplinary position.

Content

The subject for the thesis will be decided in consultation with a supervisor during the 2nd semester. The main work of writing the thesis will be conducted during the 3rd semester in consultation with the supervisor and the thesis will be handed in at the end of the programme.

Instruction

The language of instruction is English. Individual tuition and group presentations are conducted during the writing process.

Assessment

The course will be examined with the international ECTS grades (A, B, C, D, E, F, FX.), and with the grades Väl godkänd (Distinction), Godkänd (Pass), or Underkänd (Fail).

Other regulations

Language of instruction will be English and the students are expected to write the thesis in English.

Transitional provisions

Members of a course regulated by a former version of this course plan have the possibility to be examined in accordance with that course plan within two years after the closure of the course. If there are particular reasons, such an examination can take place also later on. Normally no instruction in accordance with former versions of the course plan is given.
