Degree in physiotherapy, occupational therapy or nursing.

Aims

Gain an increased understanding in the preconditions for rehabilitation in cases of asthma and chronic obstructive lung disease so that after the completion of the course, the student can plan, conduct and evaluate rehabilitation in team efforts with a focus on developing the rehabilitation further.

Content

The course has a group section and an individual section where the different professions are able to go deeper into their special areas. Medical subjects: pathophysiology, lung physiology, muscle physiology, pharmacology, pathology, and metabolism. Behavioural science subjects: learning, motivation, adaptability, and psychosocial aspects. Core subjects: physiotherapy, care, and occupational therapy. Measurement methods: general and specific for the different professions.

Instruction

This is a distance course with 6 class meetings (each class meeting consists of 2 weekend days). Tuition is in the form of lectures, seminars, audits, patient demonstrations, group work and/or individual work.

Assessment

Satisfactory completion of the course requires: Passing mark on written examination. Passing mark on written individual or group report.
