General provisions
The course is a mandatory part in the second year of the Master's Programme in studies of diversity. The course is a continuation on the course "An introduction to the Many Dimensions of Diversity"
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course, students are to have deepen their understanding of the diversity concept and be able to
* apply the legal body of regulations in forms of laws, rights and how these are interpreted and applied
* apply valid grounds for discrimination
* work out active actions against discrimination in different organisations
* work pro-actively with questions of diversity
* prove their ability of independently work out plans of diversity
Content
The aim of the course is to give a deeper and hands-on application of the diversity concept and the concepts different meanings and implications. The concept of diversity and its different fields of application is in focus with emphasis on different theoretical and more hands-on perspectives.
Instruction
The course is taught by seminars and group-exercises and field excursions
Assessment
Examination is done by presentation of written and/or oral assignments. The course finishes with the writing of a memorandum.
