General provisions
The course is part of the Euroculture Master's programme.
The Course plan was agreed on 2011-01-31 by the Dean of the Faculty of Theology and will be in function from this day and onwards.
Entry requirements
The course is only available to students within the Euroculture Master's programme.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course students will be able to:
- write a thesis-portfolio containing clearly defined research questions and
- formulate a plan for the completion of the thesis with intended empirical material, theoretical frame-work, and hypothesis at an advanced level.
- develop a qualified analysis of a problem of relevance for Euroculture from a multidisciplinary perspective, while engaging to an appropriate degree with the existing scholarly literature on the topic.
- locate appropriate research materials as well as other kinds of materials connected to the problem discussed in the proposed thesis.
Content
Conducted during the third semester, this course guides students in the preparation of a thesis portfolio, including a description of the project's topic, sources, and methods, as well as a substantial bibliography. The subject for the thesis will be decided in consultation with each student's supervisors. . The portfolio will be handed in at the end of the third semester, but will not be graded until the thesis is submitted at the conclusion of the fourth semester.
Instruction
Teaching will be in form of lectures, seminars, workshops and study-groups. Teaching will be in English.
Assessment
The course will be graded with the grades Väl godkänd (Distinction), Godkänd (Pass), or Underkänd (Fail).
Other regulations
Language of instruction will be English and the students must write the thesis in English.
Transitional provisions
Members of a course regulated by a former version of this course plan may be examined in accordance with that course plan within two years after the closure of the course. If there are compelling reasons, such an examination may take place even later. Normally no instruction in accordance with former versions of the course plan is given.
