General provisions

The course is part of the Euroculture Master's programme.

The course plan was agreed on 2011-08-29 by the Dean of the Faculty of Theology and will be in function from this day and onwards.

Entry requirements

The course is only available to students within the Euroculture Master's programme.

Learning outcomes

After completion of the course students will be able to:

• initiate and manage a minor research project.
• propose research question and present them in a clear and distinct manner through different oral, written and design techniques.
• write in improved, advanced-level academic English.
• propose internship possibilities and discuss time-plans and strategies for obtaining internships.
• comment on and evaluate other students’ research questions and internship proposals.

Content

By using material from other courses during the semester the students will train to initiate interesting research- or managing-projects and to present them through different techniques. The students will be taught various ways of presenting the material for different audiences and will explore these techniques through active training.

Instruction

Teaching will be in form of lectures, seminars, workshops, computer labs and study-groups. Teaching will be in English.

Assessment

Examination takes place through active participation in the taught sessions, written papers and exams. As part of this course student must also take the consortium-wide test on the Euroculture Introductory Reader. The course will be examined graded with grades Väl godkänd (Distinction), Godkänd (Pass), or Underkänd (Fail).

Other regulations

For a course to be completed a minimum level of 75% attendance is required in all of the elements of the course described in the syllabus. Absence over and above this is to be compensated by compensatory task(s) as decided upon by the teacher responsible for the course.

Transitional provisions

Members of a course regulated by this course plan have the possibility to be examined in accordance with the same course plan within two years after the closure of the course. If there are particular reasons, such an examination can take place also later on. Normally no instruction in accordance with former versions of the course plan is given.
