Aims
The course provides the basic tools and
mathematical techniques used in the analysis of
continuous- and discrete-time signals and linear
systems.
Content
Fourier-and Laplace-description of continuous
signals. The concept of poles and zeros. The
sampling theorem and discrete-time signals. The
discrete Fourier transform (DFT), the fast
Fourier transform (FFT) and the z-transform.
Description of non-deterministic signals.
Correlation (auto-and cross-), amplitude
distribution and power spectral density.
Description of continuous- and discrete-time
linear systems in the time-and frequency domains.
Continuous- and discrete-time filters.
Instruction
Lectures, lessons and laboratory work.
Assessment
Written and/or oral examination and passed laboratory course.
