Aims
The aim of this course is to give knowledge and understanding how microwave components are put together to form subsystems or systems. The laboratory work is aimed to give a better understanding of the type of measurements and development work that is common in the industry.
Content
Balanced amplifiers. Intermodulation. Advanced mixers, Noise in microwave systems, Microwave communication systems, Satellite systems, Radar systems, Radiometry, Microwave propagation, Microwave heating, Energy transfer using microwaves, Biological effects.
Laboratory work: Measurements on active and passive microwave components aimed for a 5 GHz wireless network.
Instruction
Lectures and laboratory work.
Assessment
Written and/or oral examination at the end of the course. Passed laboratory course.
