General provisions

The course is included in the Master's Programme in Religion in Peace and Conflict.

Entry requirements

Bachelor's degree where the main field of study consists of at least 90 credits in Theology, History, Philosophy, Linguistics, Educational Science, Social Science or the equivalent. The main field of study should include an individual assignment worth at least 15 credits.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student is expected to be able to:

• identify, plan and carry out a minor research project within a given time frame;
• master different ways of communicating research results in a popular scientific format;
• choose an appropriate format for presenting the completed assignment.

Content

The student will choose a movement, individual or activity to research and present. The student will also choose a format and medium for communicating the results of the study. Target group for the study: interested laypersons.

Instruction

The course is a distance-learning course. Contact between teachers and students takes place via a learning platform. An Internet connect computer is essential.

Assessment

The course is assessed through written assignments.

Other regulations

Please note that the stated teaching methods may be replaced by self-studies if there is a very low number of students.

Transitional provisions

Students that reading this course according to older course syllabus has possibility to examine course according to the course syllabus within two years after course date. If there are special reasons, such retake can take place also later. Normally, teaching according to older course syllabus is not given.
