Learning outcomes
Upon completing the course, students with a Pass grade will be able to:
- identify the various kinds of motion capture techniques and know when to use them.
- identify advantages and limitations of motion capture animation.
- describe a production flow for inputting motion data and integrating it into game production.
- record and process motion capture data using an optical motion capture system.
- display basic proficiency in instructing the people involved and ensuring safety requirements are fulfiled.
- understand and be able to apply the principles of animation in games and films in order to be able to convert motion capture into animation.
Content
The course is given in the form of lectures and workshops concentrating upon the use of motion capture for game production. Students work in groups and individually to learn the best methods for using specialised motion capture equipment.
