This course consists of two parts. The first focuses the idea of democracy. We discuss questions like: What is democracy? How can democracy be justified? How can democracy be institutionalised? The main book is Robert Dahl's Democracy and Its Critics.
The second part focuses on contemporary normative political theory - especially political liberalism and the critique from communitarians, feminists and others. The main book is Will Kymlicka's, Contemporary Political Philosophy.
