General provisions

The degree project can be carried out within the university, at other universities or relevant work places or as a collaborative project. The subject should be established by the examiner at the Faculty of Pharmacy after consultation with student and supervisor. Before course introduction, choices of supervisors and the planning of the work should be granted by examiner at the Faculty of Pharmacy. The student should be registered at the Faculty of Pharmacy. In addition to the compulsory written and oral presentation of the degree project, or the degree project can be presented in a popular scientific manner through participation with a poster or a talk in a symposium that is organised at the end of the semester.

Entry requirements

For students within the Master Programme in Drug Management it is required that the student has passed at least 22.5 credits within the programme.. Specific prerequisites are established by the examiner dependent on the specialisation of the project. Knowledge in Swedish and English equivalent to the general requirements for Swedish higher education on a basic level.

Learning outcomes

The student should independently be able to solve a problem within the field of drug management relevant for the degree project by working after a project plan formulated by the student in collaboration with the supervisor. After examination, the student should be able to present the scientific work including the achieved results both as an oral and a written presentation. The student should after examination be able to search, critically evaluate and assess scientific information and knowledge and have the ability to independently solve problems.. The student should understand current scientific issues within the field of the subject of the project and have a scientific attitude to these issues.

Content

An individual project that is carried out under supervision in close connection with ongoing research or development projects. The degree project provides an opportunity for the student to apply knowledge that has been acquired under earlier studies. The work should consider the interconnection that prevail between undergraduate education , research and development work.

Instruction

The educational instruction is carried out in the form of individual tutoring, seminars and literature studies. Compulsory parts of the course: Written presentation of the degree project and oral presentation of the work through participation in a seminar announced by the department and a popular compilation of the project in the form of e g a poster or a talk.

Assessment

The degree project is presented orally before audience and a written report that has the form of a scientific publication. In order to achieve the overall pass for the entire course, the compulsory parts must be passed (examination code) including the essay (examination code).
