Entry requirements
60 credits in wind power project management including Wind Power Energy Calculations, 7.5 credits, Wind Power Planning and Permission, 7.5 credits, and Wind Power Installation, Operations and Maintenance, 7.5 credits.
Learning outcomes
After approved course the students should be able to:
- classify general investment parameters for a wind power project
- identify project stakeholders relevant to their role in project planning, scheduling and economics
- perform project cash flow projections and contractor payment schedules
- formulate preliminary project finance plans
- calculate and reflect on Return on Investment (ROI)
- account for and analyse risks and impact of infrastructure delays in financial planning
Content
The course includes the use of Gantt charts, project risk management and uncertainty tools, theoretical knowledge on project management practice in wind power project contexts, cost calculations and cash-flow, investment parameters, global financing and risks, international payments (Letter of Credit), penalty contracts and their effects on return on investment of a wind power project.
Instruction
The course is given as a net-based course. Assignments are submitted to the e-classroom on the Internet and the student will receive personal feedback by the teacher. A forum for discussion is available.
Assessment
Written hand-in assignments 2.5 credits.
Written project report 5 credits.
Other regulations
The course cannot be included in the same degree as 1GV061, Wind Power Planning and Economics.
