Entry requirements

Nursing licensure, as well as completed courses in treatment and nursing ischemic heart-disease, heart failure and nursing care of arrhythmia are required, in all 22.5 credits.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student should:

- be able to apply and evaluate research results

- be able to participate in planning and implementation of research -, quality - and development projects

- be able to participate in research -, quality - and the integration of development project in the clinical activities.

Under supervision:

- carry out an empirical development -, quality - and research projects or literature study within cardiological nursing

- choose adequate research design and methods for data collection

- choose relevant analytical methods (qualitative/quantitative)

- compile and interpret collected data

- write advanced assignment

Instruction

Take place in part-time through lectures, literature studies and seminars. Work in single or in pair is supported through supervision and group discussions. At essay seminars, the work with student reviewers in the presence of examiner is discussed.<br />For a Pass grade in the course, participation in mandatory teaching sessions is required, active participation in seminars, passed essay and passed author of the thesis - respective critical oral reviews.

Assessment

Advanced assignment is reviewed of student reviewer and are graded of examiner. The advanced assignment is defended at public seminar. Passed critical oral review of other student's advanced assignment. Student that has failed examination has the right to go through renewed examination further four times (total five occasions).

If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the University's disability coordinator.

Registration of personal data

According to "the Ordinance of studies etc., at the university and higher education institutions (SFS 1993:1153)" comes certain student assignments to be registered. The student has the right to obtain extracts from the personal register (according to the computer law 1973:289) regarding assignments that concern her/him.
