Entry requirements
Nursing degree and at least 1 years of professional experience as a nurse.
Learning outcomes
The course shall provide deeper knowledge in the subject of ischemic heart-disease and in the care of this patient group. Furthermore, the students will be trained to review scientific articles critically and increase the ability to use these findings, in profession and for further improvement.
Content
Physiology, pathophysiology and pathogenesis.
Stable angina pectoris.
Urgent coronary syndromes.
Operational treatment.
Nursing, rehabilitation and prevention of patients suffering from ischemic heart disease.
Instruction
The education takes place on part-time, primarily through lectures and through individual assignment by means of a study supervision. Group assignments and seminars with case studies are two additional working methods that are applied in the course. Practice within clinical activities will also take place.
Assessment
Oral and written presentations will take place during the course. At the end of the semester, a written examination will take place.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the University's disability coordinator.
