Entry requirements
Nursing degree and at least 1 years of professional experience as a nurse.
Learning outcomes
The course shall provide deeper knowledge in the subject of heart failure and the care of this patient group. Furthermore, the student will be trained to review scientific articles critically and increase the ability to use these findings professionally, and for further development.
Content
Physiology, pathophysiology and pathogenesisö.
Urgent heart failure.
Chronic heart failure.
Pharmacological treatment at urgent and chronic heart failure.
The nursing situation of the heart failure patient.
Heart transplants and other alternative treatment methods at severe heart failure.
Instruction
The education takes place part-time primarily through lectures, individual assignment, group assignment, seminars and case studies.
The lectures are compulsory and in case of absence, the remuneration assignment must be submitted.
Assessment
Oral and written reports take place during the course. During the course, a written examination will take place based on the guidelines (date and time) stated by the course leader / examiner. The written exam must be approved for the course to be regarded as approved.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the University's disability coordinator.
