Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student should:
* know how a weather forecast and weather charts are produced
* have gained knowledge about the weater information presented i media
* have an overview of the atmospheres composition and circulation
* be able to namn and define the 10 main cloud types
* understand the difference between showers and rain
* hava basic knowledge about the earth's climate and its variations
Content
In the course you will laern about: the chemical composition of the atmosphere and its vertical structure, development of wind and weather systems on different scales e.g. sea breeze and varm and cold fronts, the earth's present climate and climate variations, the main cloud types how they are defined and are created and how different typs of precipitaions are fromed, interpretation of weather charts (from both SMHI and Tv and news papers) and weater forecasts.

Assessment
Written examination.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
