Content
The course deals with ecological, economic and social dimensions of sustainable development through a multidisciplinary approach. Ecosystem services, planetary limits and sustainability indicators for socio-economic development are addressed from a human perspective. Economical explanations and solutions to environmental problems are studied. The course also includes a project work.
Instruction
The course consists of lectures, exercises, literature seminars and project work with active student participation.
Assessment
Individual hand-in assignments (4.5 credits) and written and oral presentation of project work (3 credits).
To pass, active participation is required during seminars and practices.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the disability coordinator of the university.
