Learning outcomes
Upon completing the course, students will be able to:
- explain and apply key principles of game-inspired playful design in project management,
- reflect on the neurobiological foundation of playfulness in relation to project management,
- demonstrate the ability to use game design elements and playful design as strategic tools for project management,
- design game-inspired playful environments, experiences or processes that support specific goals within project management.
Content
The course is designed to deepen the students´ knowledge of key principles in both game design and playful design, with a focus on project management. The teaching draws on a biological perspective, highlighting the connection between brain function and playfulness in order to increase the understanding of how game design elements and playful design methods can enhance learning, collaboration, and adaptability in individuals, teams, and organisations. Throughout the course, the students will explore when and how game-inspired playful design can be used as a tool to achieve desired goals and long-term sustainable outcomes.
Instruction
This course combines lectures and seminars with workshops and group work
Assessment
Course assessment takes place throughout the course and is based on active participation in seminars, workshops and group assignments, as well as through a final examination.
If there are special reasons for doing so, an examiner may make an exception from the method of assessment indicated and allow a student to be assessed by another method. An example of special reasons might be a certificate regarding special pedagogical support from the University´s disability coordinator.
