Entry requirements

Knowledge equivalent to passed courses in Physical chemistry MN1 10 points (15 ECTS credits) and Mathematics and statistics NV1, 10 points (15 ECTS credits) or Mathematics 10 points (15 ECTS credits) alternatively passed courses in science/technology 60 credit points of which 20 credit points physics. The course Thermodynamics MN1, 5 credit points is recommended.

Aims

The course is intended to provide deeper practical and theoretical knowledge of physical chemistry. Orientation in and contact with topics of general interest will be presented.

Content

Thermodynamics, with emphasis on fundamental statistical thermodynamics. Chemical kinetics and molecular dynamics. Dynamic Electrochemistry. Photochemical and photophysical processes.

Instruction

Lectures, seminars, laboratory work and demonstrations. Training in oral and written reports.

Assessment

Examination is arranged at the end of the course. The laboratory work and the project must also be passed. Students who have failed a test have the right to take a new examination at the beginning of the autumn semester, after Christmas vacations and at the end of the spring semester.
