Entry requirements

To be accepted the student must either have at least 120 credit points, 60 of which in Archaeology including a C-paper, or he or she must have been accepted into one of the other Master’'s courses within the Faculty of Arts. Non-Swedish educations are assessed in relation to these requirements.

Aims

The aim of the course is to give the student more profound insights into the human relationship with environment and landscape. The course ranges from human relations with and impact on the natural landscape as well as on their relationship with the cognitive landscape and settlement.

Content

Modern landscape research is presented together with the research front in settlement studies. In the lectures, examples of Geographic, Ecological and Cognitive landscape analyses are presented. The block includes an excursion.

Instruction

Instruction consists of lectures and seminars.

Assessment

Examination comprises one or more of the following forms: Oral examination – Written examination – Active participation in seminars.
