Entry requirements

Chemistry, basic course.

Aims

The course is intended to provide knowledge in

chemistry analysis, chromatography,

electroanalytical chemistry, molecular spectroscopy and

atomic spectroscopy.

Content

Analytical methods including quality assurance. Sampling (different techniques and discussion about sample size and number of samples. Decomposing and dissolving the samples for elemental analysis. Preparation steps for analysis of organic compounds. Chromatographic methods as GC and LC. Electroanalytical techniques. Molecular spectroscopy (MS, UV/VIS, NIR, fluorescence, chemiluminescence). Atomic spectroscopy.

Laborations: Laboratory work in chromatographiy (GC and LC), UV/VIS, electrochemical methods, atomic spectroscopy.

Instruction

Lectures, lessons and laboratory work. Compulsory moments: Course introduction and laboratory work.

Assessment

Written examination at the end of the course. Practical exercises and laboratory work are assigned 1 point.
