Aims
To introduce analytic functions.
Content
The field C of complex numbers. Elementary
functions from C to C, especially Moebius
mappings and the exponential function. Analytic
functions. Cauchy's integral theorem and integral
formula with consequences. Taylor and Laurent
series. Calculus of residues. Harmonic functions.
Instruction
Lectures and problem solving sessions.
Assessment
Written and, possibly, supplementary oral
examination at the end of the course. Moreover,
compulsory assignments may be given during the
course.
