Aims
The purpose of the course is to show a number of different ways of viewing the number concept and to discuss as well as solve problems.
Content
Number theory and numerology. A historic survey and a treatment of important properties.
From the natural numbers to octonions: about the expansion of the number concept.
Some philosophical views on the number concept.
The number sense or the psychology of numbers.
Problem solving.
